Health & Wellness
Current Advocacy Issue (2017 – present)
The members of the Junior League of Orange County, NY Inc. (JLOC) regularly evaluate the interests of its current membership, which is always changing, and combine that with information gathered from the Orange County Community Health Assessment – on the specific needs of Orange County and create a focus a specific advocacy issue. This focus is then used as the center of interest for all JLOC activities including projects, trainings and programs.
In the fall of 2017, the active membership gathered to do an interactive focus evaluation. The members selected for our new focus: Health and Wellness. We will use our focus as a great tool to prevent our projects/initiatives from becoming like an out-of-focus picture – fuzzy and unrecognizable. Our focus describes doing something for a reason and ensures we keep our initiatives mission based and member driven.
